Location : Lafayette, IN- 100% onsite
Hours : 6 : 30am-2 : 30 pm (M-F regular 40 hour work week)
Type : Contract
Pay : range $33-35.75 / hour on w2
Length : 12 months- possibility to extend

The main function of a manufacturing engineer is to apply engineering theory and principles to problems of industrial layout or manufacturing production. A typical manufacturing engineer has the ability to make engineering drawings, and read and interpret blueprints.
Job Responsibilities :
Study time, motion, methods, and speed involved in maintenance, production, and other operations to establish standard production rate and improve efficiency.Interpret engineering drawings, schematic diagrams, or formulas and confer with management or engineering staff to determine quality and reliability standards.Read worker logs, product processing sheets, and specification sheets, to verify that records adhere to quality assurance specifications.Aid in planning work assignments in accordance with worker performance, machine capacity, production schedules, and anticipated delays.Prepare charts, graphs, and diagrams to illustrate workflow, routing, floor layouts, material handling, and machine utilization.Observe worker using equipment to verify that equipment is being operated and maintained according to quality assurance standards.Observe workers operating equipment or performing tasks to determine time involved and fatigue rate using timing devices.Evaluate data and write reports to validate or indicate deviations from existing standards.Skills :

Prework includes reviewing process documentation, control plans, past internal audit findings, drawing requirements, SPC, among other relevant process requirementsPlanned Method Audits include at least 1hr of observation in a machining or assembly shop environment and write detailed notes on any discrepancies or deficiencies in following the documented process.Post-work includes summarizing the PMA results, communicating to the leadership team and following up on a routine basis.Interaction with team :
This position will work within a quality internal audit team and consist of approximately 4 members and 1 manager. This position will work closely with other support groups such as manufacturing, operations and quality.
Team StructureMultiple internal auditor positions work together, support each other, and are led by a manager. This team is within the facilities proactive quality team.Work environment : 70% office environment / 30% shop floor environment. 100% on-site support is expected.
