Responsibilities Work within inpatient hospital Med / Surg and Telemetry units Units have 20-36 beds with adult patient population RN to patient ratio is 1 : 4-6 Required to float to all Med / Surg and Telemetry units as needed 12-hour day shifts, 7A-7P, with 36-hour workweek options Weekend rotation is 3 weekends within a 6-week schedule Holiday shifts required (must work select dates in November, December, and January) No on-call or call-back responsibilities Uses Epic EMR, Alaris IV pumps, and Pyxis medication dispensing systems Teaching hospital with Level 1 Trauma, Chest Pain, and Stroke Center designations Responsibilities include caring for adult Med / Surg and Telemetry patients and managing specialized equipment and drips Strong team-oriented environment with 24 / 7 support from charge nurses, CNAs, unit secretaries, hospitalists, intensivists, discharge nurses, and resource team Most units require RNs to collect blood from CVLs and assist with phlebotomy One-day facility orientation and two days of departmental orientation provided Scrub color for RNs is navy blue Unit has a busy, team-oriented culture First-time travelers are accepted for this position Free campus parking available, with paid parking deck options Requirements Active GA or compact RN license required Minimum 2 years of Med / Surg Tele RN experience required Current BLS certification required ACLS preferred; must pass EKG competency exam during onboarding Proficiency with trach care, chest tube management, PIV starts, glucometer use, and managing common drips (Insulin, Heparin, HR-titrated drips) Experience using Epic EMR is preferred Benefits High Pay and Bonuses Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options 401(k) Plan Weekly Payroll Deposit Free Online CEUs Generous Housing Allowance Travel and Licensure Reimbursements Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy Traveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID P-631645.
