Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role based in Prescott, AZ for an Advanced Practice Provider (NP or PA). The Advanced Practice Provider will be responsible for providing direct patient care, including performing physical exams, diagnosing and treating medical conditions, and prescribing medications. The provider will collaborate with physicians and other healthcare team members to develop and implement patient care plans. Additional responsibilities include educating patients and their families about treatment options and managing follow-up care.

Job Profile Summary

Under supervision or in collaboration with practice physicians, involved in the care of individuals, families and patient groups who are dealing with cancer or other related diagnosis. This care may be in clinic or virtually, via telemedicine. Responsibilities may include duties related to prevention, screening, patient care, management, and research. May serve as direct caregiver, health care consultant, patient educator, administrator, or researcher. Ensures compliance with OSHA and other regulatory standards and requirements. Supports and adheres to the US Oncology Compliance Program, to include the Code of Ethics and Business Standards.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :

  • Assesses, plans,implements,and evaluates care for patients.
  • Initiates and documents appropriate interventions; evaluates and records patient / family responseandprescribes therapiesas indicated.
  • Performs procedureswith minimal supervision.
  • Assesses patient / family needs and provides education.
  • Promotes wellness and recommends community resources to meet patient and family needs.
  • Oftenincorporates evidence-based research into clinical practice.
  • Solidknowledge of reimbursement procedures and documentation requirements.
  • Completes patient chargecapture and medical record documentation in a timely fashion.
  • Likely to provide case management forpatientsand their families.
  • Sometimesservesasaresource for nursing staff by providing information being studied in clinical trials.
  • Mayprovide palliative care for the patient and their families as needed.
  • Maypromote / provide staff education
  • Responsibilities may include rounding at affiliatedhospitals, weekend or after-hour calls
  • May mentor newadvanced practice providers
  • May precept APP students
  • Other duties as assigned

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS :

Nurse Practitioner

Mastersof Sciencein Nursing (MSN) fromanaccredited nursingschooland successful completion of a Nurse Practitioner program.This position typically requiresaminimumof 3yearsofexperience as a practicing Nurse Practitioner, preferably inthe chosen specialty.RN state licensureand current registration with the State Board of Nursing in practicing state.Current state licensure asaNurse Practitioner.AOCNP preferred.Currentbasic life support (BLS) / CPR certification required.

OR

Physician Assistant

Successful completion of an accredited Physician Assistant program.Current NCCPA (National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants) certification.This position typically requiresa minimum of3yearsofexperience as a practicing Physician Assistant, preferably inthe chosen specialty.Current state license as a Physician Assistant in practicing state.Currentbasic life support (BLS) / CPR certification required.

OR

Clinical Nurse Specialist

Mastersof Sciencein Nursing (MSN) from an accreditednursing schooland successful completion of aClinical Nurse Specialistprogram. This position typically requiresaminimum of3years ofpracticing Clinical Nurse Specialist, preferably inthe chosen specialty.RN state licensureand current registration with the State Board of Nursing in practicing state.Current state licensure as a Clinical Nurse Specialist.AOCNSpreferred(if applicable).Currentbasic life support (BLS) / CPR certification required.
