Laboratory Assistant

Job Description

Join Pride Health as a Lab Assistant at Irving, TX! This is a 3 months contract role (with possible extension) offering a great opportunity for experience to excel in a dynamic environment.

Role : Lab Assistant

Location : Irving, TX 75063

Shift Schedule : Tuesday – Saturday, 1 : 00 AM – 9 : 30 AM

Hours per Week : 40 hours

Start Date : ASAP

Pay Highlights : $15-17.20 / hour (Based on years of experience)

Key Responsibilities :

• Sort, receive, and accession specimens within the department.
• Perform routine instrument maintenance on designated equipment.
• Centrifuge specimens, prepare aliquots, inoculate samples, and prepare slides.
• Print additional labels and record data such as temperature charts.
• Prepare reagents and / or media as needed for laboratory testing.
• Maintain and retrieve stored specimens; resolve pending lists and locate missing samples.
• Perform QA / QC duties as assigned.
• Decontaminate work areas and dispose of biohazardous material safely.
• Perform weekly radioactive wipe tests and change gas cylinders.
• Maintain files and records for the department.
• Use the laboratory computer system and PCs for specimen tracking and documentation.
• Complete training and competency checklists as required.
• Adhere to PPE, infection control, and all safety regulations.

Qualifications :

Education : High School Diploma or GED required.

Experience : Previous experience in a medical or laboratory environment is a plus
