About The Position

An exceptional opportunity for an experienced Physician Assistant (PA-C) to join a highly specialized Cardiac Surgery team in beautiful Colorado Springs, CO. The role involves providing perioperative and ICU care, first-assisting in complex cardiac procedures, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to deliver world-class patient outcomes.

🩺 Job Responsibilities

Provide expert perioperative care for cardiothoracic surgery patients.

First-assist in complex cardiac surgeries, including endoscopic vein harvesting .

Manage ICU and cardiovascular surgical patients (CVICU, floor, clinic).

Rotate OR coverage Monday–Friday + 2 full-day clinics weekly.

Conduct rounds, order & interpret diagnostic tests, prescribe medications.

Perform bedside procedures and ensure accurate clinical documentation.

Operate independently while collaborating with surgeons and intensivists.

Job Requirements

Master’s degree in Physician Assistant Studies – Required.

PA-C certification (NCCPA) – Required.

Minimum 3+ years of cardiac / cardiovascular surgery + ICU experience .

Experience with endoscopic vein harvesting + first-assist – Required.

DEA license + full prescriptive authority – Required.

Active Colorado state license (or ability to obtain).

BLS certification – Required.

Medicare / Medicaid eligible, with no sanctions / exclusions.
