Job Summary

The Students' Attorney is seeking interns to fill paid internship positions for Spring 2026 and Summer 2026. Applicants should indicate in their cover letter which semester they desire to intern with the Students' Attorney. Internships can be granted for any department. The Students' Attorney intern will be considered a student employee and will meet the following guidelines.

Student employee will assist the Students' Attorney with filing, managing clients, conducting legal research, drafting memos and other legal documents, and other tasks as needed. The student employee should be proficient in all Microsoft Office software and have excellent writing and interpersonal skills as much of the work will be client-facing. The student employee should have great attention to detail and outstanding organizational skills.

Student employee will be bound by the Illinois Supreme Court Rules of Professional Conduct for attorneys including conflict of interest and confidentiality rules.

Student employee will be subject to the Dean of Students Office student worker professional standards.

Pay Rate

$15.00 / hour

Required Qualifications

All student employees in the Dean of Students Office must maintain good academic (min. 2.0 cumulative GPA) and disciplinary standing from the point of application through term of employment. The employer will check status at the beginning and the end of each semester of employment.

Work Hours

This position is up to 20 hours per week during operating hours of the Dean of Students Office (Monday through Friday, 8 : 00 a.m. - 4 : 30 p.m., excluding university holidays).
