Summary
The Grants and Compliance Manager (GCM) is responsible for effectively managing Marin City Health and Wellness Centers (MCHWC) private funds and Fee for Service contracts, including new funding, reporting, invoicing, and management of deliverables and compliancewith the purpose of sustaining and increasing funding,program resources, and impact.The GCM works closely with Write Choice Network, acting as a point of contact and liaison.
The positionis responsible forall aspects of Institutional Givingandforgrowing its foundation base upwards from approximately $1.5M annually.Uponprocurement, theGCMis responsible for monitoringgrant and contract compliance includingspending, deliverables, andother requirements to ensure that grantor relationships remain in good standingand as viable sources of sustainable support.The GCM oversees organization-wide evaluation effortsin orderto demonstrate and increaseprogramimpact, organizational performance,andcompetitivenessfor outcomes-based funding.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Institutional Giving
Strategic planning and goal setting,
Prepare and supervise the ongoing progress of multi-million dollar grant proposals. Collaborate on grant concept, prepare drafts including executive summaries, propose modifications and ensure completion of all grants (budget changes, extensions, etc.); coordinate the submission of all grant reports and required documentation with team members by deadline dates
Prepare and maintain grant records grant files, internal / external statistics); develop, maintain, and share a comprehensive annual grants calendar that establishes target dates for information gathering, writing, review, approval, transmittal, and reporting
Follow proposal and reporting standards, including readability, consistency, and tone; create donor and proposal actions database, to develop and track annual grants budget
Recommend grant-related policies to support overall organizational goals, priorities, and requirements, including compliance with laws and regulations
The Grants and Development manager will strive to achieve the following :
Create an institutional brand which identifies the Center as a local heath leader. The Director of Development is available to all staff to ensure the consistency and quality of the brand, and to help produce publications, print materials and online presence for MCHWC.
Improve and expand fundraising systems, including the grant process, funder cultivation and stewardship, prospect research and vetting, cash flow and revenue goals, and team growth for fundraising excellence.
Create a revenue model that incorporates private and public funding sources to realize an 8-figure capital expansion plan and related construction costs and fees.
Provide the practical direction and tools for planning, financing, and completing MCHWC capital project(s), including : identifying funders for proposed uses of space at new site, developing a business plan and financial forecast, creating a capital donor giving campaign, managing the site project team, and evaluating financing options and fundraising plans.
Identify, assess and apply for capital funding from grants / gifts, Program Related Investment, New Market Tax Credits, Community Development Entities, state and federal funds, and tax-exempt bonds.
Develop new revenue streams with current and / or new corporate and agency partners.
Develop print and online materials to promote the clinic generally, as well as specific programs and events.
Strategize with the Manger of Funder Relationships to engage and support the CEO in development activities, as appropriate.
Expand the target audience through community relations, speaking engagements, newsletters and charitable events. Work with the Manager of Fund Development to use each of these tools and audiences to engage more donors.
Work with the Manager of Fund Development to build direct mail strategies, implement donor and prospect mailings, develop a monthly sustained giving program, create and manage online giving campaigns, and develop new revenue streams with current and / or new business partners.
Analyze individual campaigns and overall program performance using Salesforce donor database reports, industry standards and benchmarking.
Work nights / weekend as needed for event activities.
Communication Functions :
Work with the CEO and Key Management team to create a consistent public presence for MCHWC, the Bayview Hunters Point Clinic, and the San Rafael Womens Center.
Leverage existing communication vehicles (meetings, site tours, website, enews, social media) to reach capital and major donors, and nurture connections with those donors and prospects.
Field inquiries related to capital campaigns.
Utilize the MCHWC website, internet, and social media for marketing and fundraising opportunities.
Oversee the design, printing and distribution of marketing and communication materials for development and outreach efforts.
Build relationships with community stakeholders to advance the mission and fundraising goals of the organization.
Maintain reliable internal communication by working directly with the CEO, COO, Clinic Manager and Board of Directors, as well as the MCHWC staff.
As necessary, represent the organization at events and speak compellingly to the public about MCHWCs mission, work and capital expansion.
