Job Summary : Provide support for the UNMC campus compensation / classification activities which includes job documentation, job evaluation, salary administration with guidance and direction from the Compensation Administrator. In addition, assist with compensation and other department projects.

Responsibilities

  • Provide support for campus compensation / classification activities (job documentation, job evaluation, salary administration).
  • Assist with compensation and other department projects as directed by the Compensation Administrator.

Required Qualifications

  • Required Education : Bachelor\'s degree
  • Type Of Required Education : Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, Economics or Human Resources.
  • Required Experience : Less than 1 year
  • Type Of Required Experience : Human Resources Compensation and / or Finance related experience.
  • Required License / Certification : NA
  • Equivalency Statement : Will consider additional related post high school education in lieu of required experience.
  • Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities :
  • Understanding of human resource related laws and regulations.

  • Understanding of general compensation philosophy and methodology for conducting market analysis.
  • Ability to project a positive image for the university and effectively work as part of a team.
  • Ability to adapt and embrace change.
  • Ability to continuously learn and to pursue self-development through personal study, training and education.
  • Strong analytical skills with attention to details.
  • Ability to maintain high levels of confidentiality.
  • Ability to research trends and make recommendations based on trends or change of State and / or Federal laws.
  • Ability to take initiative to handle multiple priorities and work independently with minimal supervision. A strong sense of urgency and ownership is required.
  • Effective organizational, interpersonal, collaboration and communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Proven project management skills, including relationship building and presentation skills.
  • Public contact position requiring appropriate business-like apparel.
  • Preferred Qualifications

  • Preferred Education : Master\'s degree
  • Type Of Preferred Education : MBA
  • Type Of Preferred Experience : Compensation administration experience to include job evaluations and market analysis; experience in an academic health science center.
  • Preferred License / Certification : Certified Compensation Professional (CCP)
  • Preferred Computer Applications : Not Applicable
