Job Description

Industrial Maintenance Operations Manager

Picture your day : you kick off with a quick stand-up to align the maintenance crew on goals and safety, skim overnight CMMS work orders, and set priorities for the shift. Mid-morning, you’re on the floor overseeing an equipment overhaul while coordinating a machine relocation. After lunch, you review the maintenance budget and ROI for a capital request, then meet with Safety, Quality, Production, Shipping & Receiving, and Admin to plan the week. Later, you welcome a visit from the local fire department and ensure our GMP and food safety standards are rock solid. Throughout, you balance hands-on floor time with the administrative work that keeps the department humming.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead and develop the Maintenance team—set clear goals, track performance metrics, and inspire high performance.
  • Own day-to-day maintenance operations, prioritizing and scheduling work for maximum uptime.
  • Ensure safe work practices at all times, including LOTO, and uphold GMP and food safety compliance.
  • Manage the department budget and participate in capital planning.
  • Coordinate plant projects : equipment design / development, overhauls, and machine moves / relocations.
  • Serve as primary liaison for state and federal inspections, local fire department visits, and insurance inspections.
  • Balance administrative duties with a consistent presence on the production floor.
  • Communicate clearly in writing and in person; organize work and collaborate across teams.
  • Partner closely with Safety, Quality, Production, Shipping & Receiving, and Administrative Departments.

What You Bring

  • A systematic, scientific approach to problem solving with strong root cause analysis capability.
  • Working knowledge of Lean, TPM, 5S, and structured RCA methods.
  • Fluency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Forms.
  • Hands-on familiarity with LOTO, basic PLCs, VFDs, and both electrical and mechanical systems.
  • Experience with machine shop tools : welders, grinders, lathes, and cutting equipment.
  • Understanding of capital project processes and ROI analysis.
  • CMMS proficiency and solid inventory management experience.
  • Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • BS or AS in a technical field strongly preferred.
  • At least five years of plant maintenance experience in a supervisory or managerial role required.
  • Strong knowledge of printing and paper converting machinery preferred.
  • Core Proficiency
