Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role for a Senior IT Systems Engineer, located in Greater Los Angeles, CA. The Senior IT Systems Engineer will be responsible for overseeing the IT infrastructure, troubleshooting technical issues, providing technical support, and managing system and network administration tasks. Daily tasks will involve ensuring system security, performing regular maintenance, and developing strategies to improve the overall IT function.

Youll help build and maintain the core infrastructure that supports our operations and pharmacy teams along with interfacing with our engineering team. You'll be a key technical contributor, ensuring our systems are secure, scalable, and reliable. You will have an opportunity to work in an interdisciplinary environment with a high degree of ownership and drive milestones forward

Responsibilities

  • Design, deploy, and maintain server, storage, and network infrastructure (including hybrid cloud and on-prem environments)
  • Ensure high availability, performance, and disaster recovery for critical systems and services
  • Implement and maintain system security, including patching, access control, hardening, and vulnerability management
  • Troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure incidents, performing root cause analysis and corrective action
  • Collaborate with operational team to install and configure workstations, networking, and core availability of systems
  • Make recommendations, justify, and implement improvements using an accepted change control methodology.
  • Work within diverse groups to design and deliver creative solutions and resolve problems in a timely and proactive manner by interacting with internal business units.
  • Drive designs, implementations, and support in the following areas :
  • Architecture : making considerations for interoperability, scale, efficiency, and business continuity for users within and across environments.
  • Security : building PKI standards and ensuring access and data is protected. KMS, HSM, certificate management, encryption methods, etc.
  • Scripting and automation : developing solutions to address issues at scale.

Basic Qualifications

  • Skills in Information Technology, Troubleshooting, and Technical Support
  • Proficiency in System Administration and Network Administration
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills - you will be interacting and working alongside a diverse group of people in the same facility as well as supporting remote staff
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA, Cisco, Microsoft) are a plus
  • Experience in the healthcare or pharmacy industry is advantageous
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience with Windows operating system engineering and architecture.
  • Experience with Active Directory, Kerberos, Okta, MDM, and multi-platform authentication and identification environments.
  • Experience with Google Workspace + Okta is required
  • Experience (including the ability to setup, configure, upgrade, manage, and troubleshoot) with Windows-based systems and services (i.e. Active Directory Certificate Services, Active Directory Federation Services in both physical and virtual environments)
  • Experience with Linux and MacOS-based systems and services (i.e. CUPS, Systemd)
  • Scripting experience in Bash / PowerShell, leveraging source code and version control tools.
  • Experience with cryptography fundamentals : PKI standards, data encryption or key management.
