Sales Engineer - Houston

Are you an ambitious and driven professional looking to elevate your career in healthcare technology sales? Spirax Sarco is seeking a Sales Engineer with a passion for ethically achieving sales targets, delivering profitable growth, and providing differentiated value across the Houston market. This role offers a unique opportunity to build strategic partnerships and expand our presence in the hospital and healthcare sector.

This role is remote, but the candidate needs to be located in the territory.

Essential Job Functions

  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with collaborators such as facilities managers, biomedical engineers, and procurement teams at hospitals.
  • Provide new hospital clients with a comprehensive understanding of Spirax Sarco's steam and thermal energy solutions, emphasizing patient safety, operational efficiency, and regulatory compliance.
  • Identify and pursue self-generated growth opportunities within Houston hospitals, healthcare systems, and medical centers.
  • Achieve and exceed sales targets by developing territory, account, and call plans dedicated to healthcare institutions and their outstanding needs.
  • Apply Spirax Sarco's Customer-Centric Approach to showcase our full range of products and services through professional presentations, lunch & learns, and clinical engineering briefings.
  • Highlight value propositions such as energy savings, infection control support, and compliance with ASHRAE, Joint Commission, and other healthcare standards.
  • Use a consultative selling approach to uncover hospital-specific challenges and deliver tailored solutions.
  • Participate in healthcare trade shows, hospital networking events, and professional organizations to connect with potential customers.
  • Maintain accurate records in Salesforce.com including opportunities, accounts, quotations, contacts, and meetings to support forecasting and pipeline management.
  • Collaborate with Strategic Account Managers and Segment Leads to align on healthcare-focused opportunities.
  • Provide innovative solutions to seek hospital difficulties like steam system reliability, sterilization support, and energy efficiency.
  • Lead pricing and contract negotiations with hospital procurement teams, ensuring full value delivery.
  • Build compelling proposals that highlight Spirax Sarco's capabilities in delivering value-based healthcare solutions.
  • Coordinate with ESG, ESD, and EM&M teams to support product design and implementation tailored to hospital environments.
  • Align internal resources to meet hospital client needs and objectives.
  • Follow all Environmental, Health and Safety and Legal Compliance requirements, including those specific to healthcare environments.
  • Embody Spirax Sarco's values and promote a culture of integrity and continuous improvement.
  • Pursue professional development opportunities in healthcare sales, steam systems, and hospital operations.
  • Engage with leadership to share ideas and identify actionable strategies for growth in the hospital segment.

Job Specifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field.
  • 35 years of experience in B2B sales, preferably in healthcare or hospital systems.
  • Proven track record of success in roles with significant accountability.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Salesforce.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel across Houston and surrounding areas.
  • Fieldwork with approximately 65% travel, primarily to hospitals and healthcare facilities.
