In this role, you will be involved in business development, managing and leading contract negotiations, educating clients on our design process, and contributing to the growth of our K-12 studio in Ohio. In addition, the client leader is responsible for the project's financial health when working with a project manager. An effective Client Leader maintains client contact for the project, supports a work environment that fosters innovation, and positively responds to the client’s goals and objectives.
The successful candidate will:
- Be a growth agent for the K-12 sector in Ohio in collaboration with other sector leaders, including business development professionals.
- Support business development initiatives by participating in the RFP and interview processes.
- Have an appreciation and passion for leading an integrated design team.
- Possess a comprehensive understanding of coordination aspects related to requirements of all design disciplines.
- Possess good written and verbal communication skills coupled with strong organizational skills.
- Ensure all DLR Group practice standards are followed during the project.
- Collaborate with the Project Manager to develop and adhere to the project work plan and schedule.
- Lead the contract negotiations and approve all contract changes.
- Ensure timely processing of invoices and engage clients for prompt payment.
- Mentor team members and participate in hiring, training, and onboarding of new staff.
- Participate in in-house training activities to further develop your skills and abilities.
- Work collaboratively with Sector Leaders and team members to lead the pursuit, award, design, and resolution of work.
- Ability to travel as projects require.
Required Qualifications:
- 15+ years of experience in a client-facing role for multiple K-12 projects in Ohio.
- Bachelor’s degree in architecture or equivalent.
Preferred Qualifications:
- OFCC Project Experience
- Master’s degree in architecture or equivalent.
- Licensed Architect in Ohio.
- NCARB certified.
