Cardiac Stepdown RN Job Details – Springfield, Illinois

Location : Springfield, IL 62769

Position : Travel Cardiac Stepdown Registered Nurse (RN)

Unit : Cardiac Intensive Care (CVICU / Cardiac Stepdown)

Employment Type : Travel Nursing Assignment

Start Date : January 19, 2026

End Date : March 15, 2026

Assignment Duration : 8 weeks

Hours per Week : 36

Shift : 12-hour night shifts (NOC), every other weekend

Estimated Weekly Salary Range : $2200 - $2360

Registered Nurse Qualifications

Active Illinois Registered Nurse (RN) license

At least 1 year of recent experience in Cardiac Stepdown, CVICU, or ICU nursing jobs

Current certifications : ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS

Ability to work 12-hour night shifts and every other weekend

Strong clinical skills in cardiac care and post-surgical ICU patient management

Cardiac Stepdown RN Responsibilities

Deliver direct nursing care to patients recovering from cardiac open heart surgeries and those in the Medical / Surgical ICU

Monitor, assess, and document patient conditions using advanced cardiac monitoring equipment

Administer medications and collaborate with the interdisciplinary healthcare team

Respond promptly to changes in patient status and provide critical care interventions

Educate patients and families on post-operative cardiac care and recovery processes
