Pediatric Cardiovascular Surgeon

Ochsner Childrens Hospital in New Orleans in seeking a BC / BE Pediatric CV Surgeon to join our growing Congenital Heart Center. The successful candidate will join a busy clinical practice and be expected to equally divide the caseload with the long-standing senior surgeon. The candidate will also have the opportunity to assume leadership of the program within a 5-year framework. Construction of a new Childrens hospital tower is underway with occupancy expected in late 2027 / 2028

The congenital heart program at Ochsner Childrens is the only full-service program in the state, performing all levels of complex surgeries as well as housing the only transplant and mechanical assist program in Louisiana. The program is perpetually ranked in the USNWR top childrens cardiology and cardiac surgery programs and is the only program in the state to ever achieve such ranking. Additionally, there is a busy adult congenital program accredited by the Adult Congenital Heart Association. The new surgeon will be joining a long-standing existing team and will benefit from a well-developed support structure for surgical outcomes. Pursuant to this, the candidate will be expected to be able to function well in a team setting.

Ochsners Congenital Heart Program has experienced steady growth over the last 9 years in both volume and quality. Our Congenital Heart Center includes a full-service pediatric cardiology practice with busy outreach locations throughout the state of Louisiana and outside the state in the gulf coast region. A very busy pediatric cardiac catheterization program provides cutting edge treatments and supports the surgery program. Our growing practice is supported by a dedicated pediatric cardiac intensive care unit. Our growth is mirrored by Ochsner Healths growing dominance in the region which will help serve as an additional catalyst for future growth.
