Join our dynamic sales team at Marshall & Sterling as a Commercial Insurance Sales Representative! This role is designed for individuals who are passionate about sales and possess excellent communication skills, along with a strong understanding of insurance products. You will actively pursue both new and existing commercial lines accounts, driving growth while retaining your book of business. This is a commission-based position with great potential for earnings!

Key Responsibilities :

  • Meet and exceed agreed-upon sales objectives.
  • Drive new business growth to expand and maintain your overall accounts.
  • Build and manage a robust pipeline of prospective clients to achieve sales and retention targets.
  • Create compelling value propositions that leverage your skills and the resources provided by Marshall & Sterling.
  • Gather detailed risk and underwriting information to effectively serve clients.
  • Prepare and present formal insurance proposals using our advanced online system.
  • Follow renewal workflows to maximize client retention.
  • Collaborate with other divisions of Marshall & Sterling to meet client needs.
  • Delegate client service tasks to ensure efficient service delivery.
  • Establish clear service timelines for accounts!
  • Participate in all required sales meetings to stay aligned with team goals.
  • Ensure timely collection of premiums according to agency policies.
  • Adhere to E&O guidelines and workflows to protect against losses.
  • Utilize marketing, loss control, and claims management resources to enhance client service.
  • Promote the agency and the insurance industry within the community.
  • Stay current with continuing education requirements for professional development.
  • Maintain relationships with staff members in a professional and collaborative manner.
  • Comply with agency employee manual policies and procedures.
  • Promptly report any E&O claims or potential issues.
  • Ensure confidentiality in handling client, staff, and agency information.
  • Undertake other duties and projects as assigned.

Qualifications :

  • A college degree is preferred, but a high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Proven track record in pursuing and closing sales.
  • Strong knowledge of various insurance products.
  • Valid state insurance licenses and continuing education credits required.
  • Ability to interact professionally with colleagues and clients at all levels.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs is essential; experience with Vertafore is a bonus.
  • A valid driver’s license and good driving record are required.
  • Exceptional communication skills, capable of connecting with diverse individuals and groups.
  • Strong organizational skills with great attention to detail.

    The annual salary range is $100,000-$250,000, negotiable based on commission. Specific salaries may vary based on relevant experience, education, and work location.
