Med Tech- Part-time

The Gilbert Residence provides exceptional nursing care to 32 residents. Supportive Living, Assisted Living and Specialized Dementia care to 58 residents. We carry a long tradition of excellence by providing compassionate and dignified care.

The med tech provides direct, primary care to residents, and delegates / supervises the care provided by the resident assistants for a designated shift. He / She is responsible for working in a coordinated effort with the department managers to maintain the smooth function of the Assisted Living and Memory Care units.

DUTIES

• Meets with members of the interdisciplinary team to assess, plan, coordinate and evaluate resident's care
• Document resident activities accurately and in a timely manner
• Assist with admission, transfer & discharge of residents
• Makes rounds with physician & other team members as needed
• Participates in developing, implementing, & revising resident service plans
• Communicate and coordinate care with residents & their families
• Administer treatments & other direct care
• Prepare & administer medication as prescribed
• Order or arrange for ordering of pharmaceuticals
• Collect specimens as ordered
• Promote a positive image of long-term care
• Protect the privacy of residents
• Provide education & instruction to resident families & staff as needed
