Production Engineer, Sr. Engineer I

Department : Production

Reports to : Production Manager

Job Description :

The Production Engineer oversees and optimizes production processes to ensure efficient, safe, and high-quality manufacturing operations. Responsibilities include managing production lines, implementing process improvements, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring compliance with standards and policies. Assist the Production Manager in developing colleagues, writing SOPs, and improving operations.

Responsibilities :

  • Production Management : Supervise daily production activities, monitor lines, adjust schedules, ensure quality and safety standards, meet KPIs, manage shop floor, train staff, report achievements and issues, and ensure stock accuracy.
  • Process Optimization : Identify and implement process improvements, analyze data, develop strategies for efficiency and quality.
  • Quality Assurance : Maintain product quality, investigate issues, and enforce quality procedures.
  • Equipment and Maintenance : Oversee equipment maintenance, schedule repairs, and ensure safety regulations are followed.
  • Troubleshooting and Problem-Solving : Resolve production issues, collaborate with engineering and maintenance teams, conduct root cause analysis.
  • Safety and Compliance : Ensure compliance, conduct audits, develop safety procedures.
  • Documentation and Reporting : Keep records, prepare reports, communicate best practices and SOPs.
  • Team Collaboration and Training : Work with staff and other departments, provide training, foster a positive environment.

Qualifications :

  • Bachelor's degree in related field; master's preferred.
  • 3-5 years' experience with a master's or 5-8 years with a bachelor's in manufacturing environment.
  • Strong understanding of production processes and quality control.
  • Proficiency in data analysis, process improvement, and management tools.
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Preferred Skills :

  • Lean, Six Sigma, project management certifications.
  • Experience with manufacturing technologies and automation.
  • Knowledge of regulatory standards.
  • Proficiency in English and Mandarin is a plus.
  • Adaptability and willingness to learn.
  • Working Conditions :

  • Office environment with manufacturing floor visits.
  • Occasional travel to facilities or vendors.
  • Work with machinery and equipment.
