About the Senior Property Accountant Role
As the Senior Property Accountant , you'll manage core accounting functions, ensure accurate financial reporting, and collaborate with property managers and executives. Your work will support strategic decision-making and maintain compliance across multiple assets.
Key Responsibilities of a Senior Accountant
Oversee accounting for an assigned portfolio, including work papers and weekly cash balance monitoring.
Perform general ledger, balance sheet, and CAM reconciliations.
Prepare and analyze monthly financial statements.
Collaborate with property managers and leadership to gather operational data and submit financial reports.
Review lease commissions against lease abstracts for accuracy.
Prepare, file, and pay sales tax returns for assigned properties.
Qualifications of a Senior Accountant
Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in property accounting.
Proficiency with MRI, Yardi, or similar real estate accounting software.
