Marketing Manager
Responsible for the overall marketing efforts and ensures the success of Promotions / Events, Direct Marketing, Caesars Rewards, Advertising, Public Relations, Player Development, Hotel Operations, and Retail Outlets. Uses analysis and reports to guide the formulation of solutions for business issues. Interacts with other members of property's leadership team to create and support property-wide business development, service and guest experience initiatives to drive loyalty. Represents casino and hotel with a focus to drive incremental cash revenue and increase database. Ensures compliance with gaming regulations while supporting Horseshoe St. Louis' vision, mission and values.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities :
- Responsible for the operations of all Marketing, Hotel Operations and Retail relating to interviewing, hiring, and training team members; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining team members; addressing complaints and resolving problems
- Responsible for overseeing the implementation of all action plans and monitors the implementation of all marketing programs in the above detailed departments
- Direct long- and short-term planning for all functions of the casino and consumer marketing departments including analysis of product and market opportunities, program effectiveness, and development of strategies to ensure adequate level of guest satisfaction and achievement of established market share goals.
- Responsible for analysis of reports, which monitor competition and recommends future action for competitive marketing efforts
- Responsible for overseeing Hotel Operations, and Retail Outlets to ensure guest satisfaction and peak revenue performance.
- Ensures the development, maintenance and expansion of new programs to generate business while making utilization of the overall budget
- Partners with the Central POD to create and strategize all marketing efforts.
- Prepares annual and quarterly marketing plans, and presents to the VP & AGM for approval
- Responsible for the organization, implementation and evaluation of all Special Events and Relationship Marketing programs (tournaments, cash giveaways, etc.) designed to increase attract and maintain premium casino business. This would also include the recovery of lost premium business
- Reviews submissions for MGC approval to ensure the accuracy of all necessary documentation as it pertains to each event
- Interacts with all other departments to ensure the highest level of guest service and effective marketing efforts
- Interfaces with the Casino Operations to insure optimum casino service
- Oversees the on-going process of updating player information in accordance with CTR guidelines
- Ensures that guest problems are handled expeditiously and are reported to the appropriate department heads either personally or through their team.
- Approve Credit Lines and Credit Worthiness.
- May issue comps via Player Database
- Creates and ensures an environment conducive to fostering teamwork, team member morale, motivation and open communication
- Knowledgeable of the Missouri Gaming regulations as well as internal controls, policies and procedures
- Must be available for regularly scheduled work
- Other duties may be assigned at any time
Qualifications :
Ability to obtain and maintain a valid Missouri Gaming License.In-depth understanding of the management and operations of casino and tourism businessThorough knowledge of and experience in the management of casino marketing functionsUnderstanding of the property's regional geographic marketStrong sales, promotions, events, hotel revenue and direct marketing experience.Complete familiarity with budgeting process, financial statements, and basic accounting principles; understanding of corporate and property-specific policies and proceduresStrong communication skills are essential.Must be organized and able to prioritize task.Must be well groomed.Education and / or Experience : Bachelor's degree (B. A.) in marketing or related field. Or equivalent combination of education and experience. At least 3-5 years marketing / casino industry experience with progressive management experience in Marketing or Hotel Operations or a combination of both disciplines.
Physical, Mental and Environmental Demands : Must be able to maneuver all areas of the casino and hotel Must be able to bend, reach, kneel, twist and grip items while working. Must have the manual dexterity to operate office equipment such as PC, fax machine, photo copier and kiosk. Must be able to work at a fast pace in stressful situations, Ability to speak distinctly and persuasively. Must be able to proficiently read, write, speak and understand English Must be able to respond to visual and aural cues.
Computer Skills : Must have a working knowledge of Microsoft Office products and all other systems associated with position.
Access to Sensitive Materials : Requires access to patron information, player levels, and all data base materials, departmental payroll / payroll records, and departmental budgetary information. Member of Senior Leadership Team and Executive Team.
