Location
Our West Campus is located at 2400 Gillionville Road, Albany, GA 31707. Our East Campus is located at 504 College Drive, Albany, GA 31705. The Human Resources office for both campuses is located on the West Campus in Building K, Suite 111.
Job Summary
The Security Officer - Logistics plays a key role in maintaining the safety and security of all logistics operations within the police department. Responsibilities include monitoring facility access, implementing and overseeing security protocols, and working closely with logistics personnel to protect assets, support event setup, and ensure a secure operational environment.

Required Qualifications Educational Requirements
A high school diploma or GED equivalent is required.
Other Required Qualifications
Demonstrated strong observational skills and keen attention to detail.
Ability to respond calmly and effectively in high-pressure or emergency situations.
Excellent verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
Possession of, or the ability to obtain promptly, a valid State of Georgia driver¿s license appropriate for the type of vehicle or equipment operated.
High school Diploma or GED equivalent required.
Preferred Qualifications
A minimum of one year of related experience is required.
Experience in logistics coordination, event setup, and operational support is preferred.
Proposed Salary
Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Other Information Physical Demands / Work Environment
Work is performed in both indoor and outdoor environments. Duties may involve sitting at a desk for extended periods as well as intermittent walking, standing, stooping, bending, or crouching. The position may occasionally require lifting light objects, distinguishing color shades, and utilizing the sense of smell.
Outdoor work may occur in noisy environments and occasionally in cold or inclement weather.
Employees may be exposed to infectious diseases or hazardous chemicals, requiring the use of protective equipment such as masks, gloves, and safety goggles.
Complexity / Scope of Work
This position involves a variety of patrol and security-related tasks. The role requires the ability to respond to unpredictable situations, including noncompliant individuals.
The primary objective is to ensure the safety and security of the University community. Effective performance contributes directly to maintaining a safe campus environment for students, faculty, and staff.
Supervisory Controls
Work is assigned by a Sergeant with general instructions. Completed work is reviewed through spot checks to ensure compliance with established procedures, accuracy, and appropriateness of outcomes.
Guidelines
Work is guided by policies and procedures outlined in the Albany State University (ASU) Policy and Procedure Manual, the ASU Employee Handbook, and University System of Georgia (USG) policies. While generally clear and specific, some guidelines may require interpretation based on situational context.
Contacts
Frequent interaction occurs with co-workers, Communications Officers, faculty, staff, students, and contractors. Most contacts involve the exchange of information and the delivery of security-related services.
Supervisory and Management Responsibility
This position does not have supervisory or management responsibilities.
