Scope of Job : The ERP Functional Application Specialist – Supply Chain is a functional resource that oversees process analysis, solution design, configuration and advanced support for the global ERP solution for Baxters. The role works with IT and business stakeholders alike to ensure following the industry’s best practice and maximization of investment in the ERP. This is a highly collaborative individual with vast ERP functional and practical expertise in (in particular) Supply Chain and other manufacturing disciplines as well as basic technical aptitude to design and implement complex solutions that solve business problems in scalable and secure ways. This individual looks for opportunities to improve performance and save costs as related to the ERP and functional processes and presents data to back decisions for pursuing improvements and proof of improved utilization.

Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities :

  • Analyzes and documents business processes to identify opportunities for improvement. Determines methods of measuring efficiency and ERP utilization to drive process improvements. Propose improvements to process and configuration within the ERP.
  • Writes business cases to inform decision making and investment justification. Thoroughly understands manufacturing process inputs and outputs. Collaborates with stakeholders to deeply understand and form detailed problem statements. Defines the benefits of (or detriment of not) solving business problems and conveys risk. Translate business need into functional ERP requirements.
  • Propose solutions to business problems based on functional requirements. Collaborate with other technical roles to plan for the implementation complex solutions. Defines clear goals for process transformation. Assist IT leadership with prioritizing and creating product roadmap plans for reporting to business leadership.
  • Oversees the direct configuration of, but also collaborates with technical ERP resources, Master Data, and business contacts to oversee smooth, effective, scalable, and secure implementations. Oversees project progress for complex implementations. Facilitate the timely delivery of minor changes and projects.
  • Help the business measure and improve their efficiency with effective reporting. Consult with integrations team members on ERP data.
  • Provide direct end user support on best practice and functional use of the ERP. Provide training and create reusable resources for the service desk to support end users basic function on the ERP. Identify and delegate support tasks to the service desk. Build successful relationships in IT and out in the business.
  • Continuously assess and improve processes in the business and within IT. Plan for product enhancements, upgrades, and migrations.
  • Ensure that all proposals and changes are consistent with Baxters security policies and industry best practice. Minimize liability, technical debt, and risk to business continuity while maximizing compliance, data security, and privacy.
  • Collaborate with production and supporting departments to ensure the food safety and quality of our products.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Education : Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Supply Chain, Information Systems, or related field required.

Experience : 5+ years of demonstrated experience overseeing all aspects of the change and implementation lifecycle; refining a problem statement, writing a business case, developing an implementation plan, overseeing implementation, testing and user validation, documentation, and post implementation support and analysis. Change and implementation management, upgrading and migrating to new ERPs. Experience with Oracle EBS, MES (ex Factory, MES, Redzone, Maximo), Microsoft Office Suite required. Oracle SQL, PL / SQL, XML, Agile / Scrum Methodologies preferred. Must be willing to travel internationally.
