Job Description

We are seeking a motivated Junior SQL Developer with hands?on experience in AWS RDS, SQL performance tuning, and SSIS ETL development to join our growing data engineering team. This is an excellent opportunity for a technically curious developer early in their career to work on real?world data pipelines, cloud database infrastructure, and mission?critical reporting systems. You will play a key role in designing, building, and optimizing data solutions that power business insights, ensure data accuracy, and support scalable applications.

Job Responsibilities

• Write, refactor, and performance?tune complex T?SQL queries, stored procedures, functions, and views.
• Analyze execution plans, add appropriate indexing, and resolve bottlenecks in high?volume environments.
• Implement best practices for error handling, transactions, and query reusability.
• Provision, configure, and maintain Amazon RDS instances (SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MySQL).
• Manage backups, restores, replication, Multi?AZ deployments, and automated snapshots.
• Monitor performance using CloudWatch, Performance Insights, and RDS Enhanced Monitoring.
• Apply security best practices : IAM roles, VPC security groups, encryption at rest / transit, and parameter groups.
• Design, develop, and deploy SSIS packages for ETL / ELT workflows using Visual Studio and SQL Server Data Tools.
• Implement data validation, error logging, restartability, and package configurations.
• Migrate legacy DTS / SSIS packages and optimize for performance and reliability.
• Schedule and monitor SSIS jobs via SQL Server Agent or AWS SSM / Airflow.
• Collaborate with analysts and developers to design normalized / denormalized schemas and data marts.
• Participate in code reviews, data architecture discussions, and sprint planning.
• Assist in large?scale data migrations (on?prem ? cloud, cross?database).
• Build reusable ETL frameworks for recurring data loads.
• Support BI teams by creating staging tables, views, and report?ready datasets.
