Prime Time Healthcare is seeking a travel Nuclear Medicine Technologist for a travel job in Fairfax, Virginia.

Job Description & Requirements

  • Must have an active VA State license at submittal
  • General Certification Requirements (BLS, etc.) : AHA BLS Specialty certification requirements : Active VA state license, ARRT(N) or NMTCB certifications Experience or 'Must have' skills" : 2 years experience, if they have hospital experience it is a plus. Must be able to start Ivs. Ok with first time traveler. Prefer experience with a Nemesis Common types of imaging / studies performed & Job Duties : Stress testing-high emphasis. Cardiac Nuclear Stress, Lexi scans, MPI experience, MPI Lexi scan, MPI visibility, Multigated Acquisition (MUGA), Cardiac Amyloid PYP testing. Accept isotopes when delivered, check them in, use a Nemesis machine where all isotopes are logged and doses and how much activity is left. Once off orientation they will be the only Nuclear Med Tech here Will they have to float / cover any other areas? No will just be covering Nuclear Medicine with a high emphasis on cardiac Do they have to start IVs? Yes, must be able to start Ivs How many scanners / rooms does this department have? 1 Average # of scans / studies per day 6 to 8 EMR & / or PACS (Picture Archive & Communication System : software & hardware) do they use "EMR : EPIC PACS : Visage" Department Specific Equipment (GE, Phillips, Siemens) Cardio MD gamma camera system Is there a Radiology Supervisor or Lead Tech on each shift? Manager or director will be available Do they use RRAs (Registered Radiology Assistants)? Yes- a cardiac tech that can help start lines and bring the patient back to the rooms. Radiologist in-house? "Cardiologist in house. An NP oversees the procedures always in the suite" Shifts & Scheduling (Do you allow self-scheduling? Block scheduling?) 0630-3p Weekend Requirements no Holiday Requirements no Call or Standby requirement? no Floating : no floating after orientation is complete Scrub Color / Dress Code : Are scrubs provided? Black How many shifts of unit / department specific orientation? Depending on experience- at least a couple of weeks working with another nuc tech on site. If facility is unable to get a Nuc Med Tech from another facility to this site, traveler will need to travel to another CDS site for orientation Additional Notes : Looking for someone to provide great customer service, this site is known for customer service and patient rapport; they have received high remarks on their Press Ganey survey.
