Outpatient Medical Coder II – Nuvance Health
Summary :
Join Nuvance Health as an Outpatient Medical Coder , responsible for accurately coding and abstracting outpatient medical records for reimbursement, compliance, and statistical reporting . This position ensures accuracy in ICD-10-CM and CPT-4 coding and maintains adherence to federal, state, and hospital coding regulations .
Key Responsibilities :
Accurately code all outpatient medical records in a timely manner following departmental and industry coding standards.
Assign correct ICD-10-CM diagnosis and CPT-4 procedure codes based on documentation.
Conduct physician or department queries when documentation is incomplete, conflicting, or unclear.
Enter required information into electronic systems for billing, reimbursement, and statistical analysis.
Independently reconcile charges and ensure all patient services are accurately reflected.
Maintain a minimum coding accuracy rate of 95% .
Stay current with all AHIMA and AAPC coding updates, regulations, and guidelines.
Participate in performance improvement and quality assurance initiatives.
Maintain coding certification(s) through continuing education.
Demonstrate reliability, professionalism, and alignment with Nuvance Health’s core values.
Qualifications :
Certifications : CPC, COC, CCS, or CCS-P (Required).
Experience : Minimum of 2 years’ experience in outpatient hospitalist, cardiology, and acute care coding with a strong understanding of documentation and coding guidelines. Not open to training at this time.
Skills : Proficiency in medical terminology , E / M coding , and interpretation of operative reports and medical orders.
Education : High school diploma or equivalent required
Salary Range : $26.48 – $50.49 per hour
