About The Position
Job Title : RN Clinical Periop Nurse

Hours per Shift : Open to working between 6 : 45 AM - 6 : 15 PM
Experience : Less than 1 year preferred, required completion of accredited nursing program with requisite clinical hours
License : RN License (Single State) or Multi-state Compact
Certifications : Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
Must-Have :
PACU experience is required.
Strong interpersonal and collaborative skills.
Ability to function in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent time management and critical thinking skills.
Description :
The RN Clinical Periop Nurse is a proactive member of an interdisciplinary team of licensed and unlicensed caregivers.
They ensure that patients, families, and significant others receive individualized, high-quality, safe patient care.
This role involves practicing in a clinical environment, guided by Nurse Managers and leaders.
The framework for practice is steered by a Professional Practice Model and evidence-based practice.
RN competencies are developed from these models and supported by core competencies.
All RN Clinical Nurses are expected to be licensed, knowledgeable, and uphold the practice of nursing.
They will implement the Scope of Practice and Code of Ethics Standards as outlined by relevant nursing organizations.
As a member of the patient services team, the RN will support service excellence goals and uphold the voice of the patient.
Core responsibilities include :
Performing the Nursing Process—assessment, diagnosis, identification of outcomes, planning, implementation, and evaluation in patient care using evidence-based practice.
Providing relationship-based patient-centered care consistent with population-specific characteristics.
Partnering with patients and significant others effectively to focus on their care goals.
Practicing using current clinical standards while coordinating the documentation of safe and quality patient care.
Demonstrating teamwork and collaboration, promoting the recruitment and retention of healthcare team members.
Participating in performance improvement activities, research, and utilizing evidence to advance patient care.
Completing ongoing professional competency assessments and required education.
Serving as a preceptor or mentor for other professional nurses and staff.
Promoting evidence-based practice, nursing research, and performance improvement in nursing.
Upholding all organizational policies, procedures, and clinical competencies in compliance with legal, regulatory, and accreditation standards.
Proactively planning for the care of patients across the care continuum.
Supporting the development of protocols and procedures to achieve best practice outcomes.
Ensuring the effective usage of human and material resources in the clinical environment.
