Position Overview
As a Superintendent you will oversee the life cycle management, financial management and close out of a project to ensure completion to customer requirements within set deadlines.
Primary Responsibilities
Reads and understands specifications as a prime contractor and subcontractor
- Understands and schedules work within budget. Review and monitor projects compared to budget
Provides all necessary information and support to site foreman
Obtains stockpiles and staging areasSchedules material suppliers and subcontractors while monitoring progressSchedules equipment and labor with job foremanMaintains extensive communication with customer (Agencies, prime contractors and owners)Reviews field time sheets for labor, equipment and rentalsAttends preconstruction and weekly construction meetingsWorks closely with General Superintendent to coordinate labor and equipment on multiple crewsSet up all work prior to actual constructionManages people as a team and produce an excellent workforce and product.Performs other duties as assignedQualifications
Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word and specialty traffic control programs
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, ability to draft clear and effective letters / emailsAbility to manage multiple projects simultaneouslyAvailable to deal with project issues during off hoursAbility to deal with difficult and possible aggressive deadlines and customers to produce positive resultsMust have an understanding of general accounting and job costing.Valid CA Driver License and good driving recordEducation and / or Experience
Minimum of 5 years at a management role in the Construction Industry
Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management or related field preferredDemonstrated ability to take accurate field measurements, take-offs, etc.Proficient in MS Office 365 products, internet, estimating software, etc.Ability to read an interpret jobsite drawings, blueprints, and mapsValid CA Driver License and acceptable driving recordWhy Join
