Your Role on the Team

Position Summary :

The Lead Outpatient Coder codes and abstracts data elements from patient records according to procedure in a timely manner and maintains workflow and productivity by assigning and reviewing work, answering questions, and resolving problems in the outpatient coding unit. What It Takes to be Successful

Required Qualifications :

• Must possess the skill, knowledge and ability essential to the successful performance of assigned duties
• Must demonstrate customer service skills appropriate to the job
• Minimum 5 years of acute multi-specialty hospital coding experience
• Knowledge of anatomy and physiology, disease process and medical terminology
• Knowledge of ICD-10 CM, PCS coding
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
• Credentialed as CCS
• Ability to work independently and be a self-starter
• Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the Health System
