About the Opportunity:
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our finance team. The Senior Accountant will be responsible for managing all aspects of deferred revenue, revenue recognition, and accounting treatment for sponsorships. This role will be responsible for ensuring that all accounting transactions related to these areas are accurately recorded, reconciled, and reported in accordance with accounting principles and company policies.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
Manage all aspects of deferred revenue, including recording and reconciling revenue deferrals, preparing monthly journal entries, and ensuring accurate revenue recognition.
Ensure proper accounting treatment for sponsorships, including recording sponsorships, tracking expenses, and ensuring timely invoicing and payment.
Develop and implement accounting policies and procedures related to deferred revenue and sponsorship accounting.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather necessary information and ensure accurate and timely reporting.
Prepare monthly and quarterly financial statements, including balance sheet reconciliations, P&L analysis, and other ad hoc reports.
Assist in the preparation of the annual budget and quarterly forecasts.
Ensure compliance with GAAP reporting requirements and other regulatory requirements.
Qualifications
Qualifications:
Strong understanding of ASC 606.
Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
CPA or CPA candidate preferred.
5+ years of experience in accounting, with a focus on deferred revenue, revenue recognition, and sponsorship accounting.
Strong understanding of GAAP reporting requirements.
Excellent communication, organizational, and analytical skills.
Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
Proficiency in Google Sheets and other accounting software.
