DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As an Equipment Operator for the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety and smooth operation of our roadways, especially during the challenging winter months when snow plowing becomes essential. Your contributions extend beyond snow removal to encompass work on various construction sites, where your skills directly impact the infrastructure and safety of the traveling public. Each day presents opportunities to tackle manual labor challenges, emphasizing the importance of teamwork and dedication.

In addition to operating heavy machinery, you are entrusted with performing minor repairs and conducting preventative maintenance on your equipment and trucks. Your role also involves meticulous record-keeping, as you complete daily logs and reports to track equipment usage and maintenance history. This documentation is vital for operational efficiency and fosters accountability within the team. Work Schedule and Additional Information :

• Full-time employment.
• Work hours vary from 7 : 00 AM to 3 : 00 PM; Monday - Friday, with 30-minute lunch. Dual shifts are 4 : 00 AM to 12 : 00 pm OR 12 : 00 pm to 8 : 00 PM.
• Travel, overtime and shift work required. Work hours subject to change based on seasonal requirements and operational needs.
• Telework : You will not have the option to telework in this position.
• Salary : In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.
