POSITIONSUMMARY :

The Field Engineer provides technical engineering support toproject supervisors and craft workforce to ensure all construction complieswith all appropriate standards, codes and specifications. The Field Engineermust be a flexible and adaptable team-player, as well as have goodcommunication and client service skills.

MAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES :

  • Demonstrate commitment to an injury-free environmentthrough own actions and mentoring others
  • Supports / assists in implementation of Operation Zeroand all Manhattan safety policies
  • Participate in performing survey layout forconstruction control lines and elevations for accurate measurement andcorrect installation of materials
  • Maintain record documents
  • Material takeoffs for self-perform work
  • Research of drawing interpretations, problems, anderrors
  • Verification that all completed work complies withdrawings and specifications
  • Strong knowledge of the contract specifications anddocuments
  • Verify all survey monuments and markers
  • Assist in subcontractor coordination
  • Responsible for conductingthemselves in accordance with our Guiding Principles and exhibitingattributes matching the Way We Work.

  • Excellent time management and organizationalskills
  • MINIMUMQUALIFICATIONS :

  • 2 Year Degree- Construction Management, Engineering or equivalent.May substitute required education degree with related experience on a one-to-onebasis
  • 3 years of industry experience
  • Must be able to manage layout and total station
  • WORKINGCONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL EFFORTS :

  • You must be adaptable to all types of weather conditions and traverse and inspect all areas of a construction job site, including walking, climbing, reaching, bending, crawling, or stretching.
  • Ability to physically stand, bend, sit for long periods, and squat throughout the day.
  • Ability to repeat the same movements.
  • Ability to communicate effectively to participate fully in meetings, video conferences, and phone calls.
  • Ability to compose, send, and reply to emails and written correspondence.
  • Must be able to lift, pull, or move up to 50 pounds at a time.
  • Travel may be required occasionally, primarily in the metropolitan area but sometimes domestically (must have a valid Drivers License).
  • Exposure to characteristic construction site hazards.
