Fully Remote (U.S. Only) : This is a fully remote position, allowing you to work from home or location of record within the U.S. with no in-office requirements. You must be available five days per week during designated work hours. The work arrangement for this role is subject to change based on business needs and individual performance. This may include adjustments to on-site requirements or schedule expectations, as necessary.

Position Overview

The Manager Anaplan Financial Systems will be an integral part of the Finance team by driving the strategic development, implementation, and governance of our Anaplan ecosystem which acts as the backbone of the FP&A team’s reporting. This role requires a blend of financial modeling knowledge, Anaplan model building, project management skills, and the ability to identify key processes and control points to further advance our Anaplan function and models. Responsible for leading the Anaplan model builders in maintaining our current model and development of new functionality while establishing best practices and ensuring system scalability.

  • Anaplan Model Building & Maintenance : Design, develop, and maintain scalable Anaplan models to address business needs and ensure alignment with financial and operational objectives. Oversee ongoing maintenance of existing models, ensuring they remain accurate, efficient, and aligned with evolving business requirements. Lead the development of new functionalities to enhance planning and analytical capabilities.   • Anaplan Strategy & Governance : Define and implement the strategic vision for Anaplan within the organization, ensuring alignment with business objectives and best practices. Develop governance frameworks to maintain data integrity, model consistency, and compliance with company policies.
  • Strategic Leadership & Governance : Establish and lead the Anaplan Finance Systems function, developing best practices, governance models, and standardized processes to enhance system capabilities. Be the subject matter expert on Paylocity’s Anaplan platform by guiding users to leverage established best practices, and build, test, and deploy models in a scalable and effective manner.
  • Financial Modeling & Analysis : Leverage Anaplan to create and optimize financial models that support business planning, forecasting, and decision-making processes.
  • Anaplan Model Building : Design, develop, and maintain scalable Anaplan models to address business needs and ensure alignment with financial and operational objectives.
  • Project Management : Oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of Anaplan models, managing project timelines, stakeholder communication, and resource allocation.
  • Process & Control Enhancement : Identify key process improvements, implement control frameworks, and drive automation initiatives to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of financial and operational planning.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration : Partner with finance, operations, IT, and other business units to gather requirements, define solutions, and drive adoption of Anaplan across the organization.
  • Training & Enablement : Develop training programs and knowledge-sharing initiatives to upskill internal teams and ensure long-term sustainability of the Anaplan platform.
  • Performance Optimization : Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and continuously refine models to improve accuracy, scalability, and usability.

Education and Experience

  • Ability to analyze costs, advantages, risks of a decision using sound logic to make well-informed recommendations and decisions
  • Results oriented, highly collaborative, and excellent attention to detail
  • Excellent planning and prioritization, problem solving, and business partnering skills
  • Proficient verbal, nonverbal, written, and presentation skills
  • Anaplan Level 3 or Master Anaplanner certification
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Accounting, Information Systems, or a related field. MBA or equivalent experience preferred.
  • 10+ years of work experience in Business Applications, Finance, or roles involved with enterprise software implementations, which include at least 2+ years of model building in Anaplan, solution design, and COE leadership. Hands-on experience designing and implementing Anaplan solutions, including substantial exposure to solution architecture
  • Strong financial modeling and analytical skills with experience in FP&A, budgeting, forecasting, and operational planning. Solid understanding of multi-dimensional modelling - intersection of FP&A and Business Applications
  • Proven ability to manage complex projects, drive process improvements, and establish governance frameworks.
  • Expertise in identifying and implementing control points to ensure data integrity and compliance.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally with senior leaders and business partners.
  • Anaplan Model Builder certification (Level 2 or higher) required; Solution Architect certification preferred.
  • Experience with integration tools and enterprise systems (ERP, BI, CRM) is a plus. Proficient in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint, familiarity with NetSuite and Salesforce is preferred
  • Physical requirements

  • Ability to sit for extended periods : The role requires sitting at a desk or workstation for long periods, typically 7-8 hours a day.
  • Use of computer and phone systems : The employee must be able to operate a computer, use phone systems, and type. This includes using multiple software programs and inquiries simultaneously

    The base pay range for this position is $160,300 - $180,000 / yr; however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. This position is eligible for an annual bonus and restricted stock unit grant based on individual performance in addition to a full range of benefits outlined here.
