Programmer Analyst

Scion Staffing has been engaged to conduct a search for an RPG Programmer / Systems Analyst for an established, growth-oriented manufacturing organization known for its collaborative culture and commitment to operational excellence. This is a full-time onsite role based in the Grand Rapids, MI area. Relocation assistance is offered for qualified candidates outside the region.

POSITION OVERVIEW:

The RPG Programmer / Systems Analyst will support core business operations by developing and maintaining ERP and MES systems while delivering critical data insights for leadership. This role blends hands-on programming, systems support, and cross-functional collaboration within a production-focused environment. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, analytical, and eager to build technical solutions that improve efficiency and system stability.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Develop, modify, and maintain RPG programs and reporting tools.

• Support and assist in upgrading Infor ERP XA and Paper-Less MES systems.

• Build SQL queries, analyze data, and provide insights to business units.

• Configure, troubleshoot, and maintain EDI processes and trading partner integrations.

• Monitor IBM i system messages and perform daily, nightly, and end-of-month ERP procedures.

• Manage user setup, system security tasks, and IBM i administrative activities.

• Assist with integrations across third-party platforms, including shipping, eCommerce, and label systems.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Mandatory hands-on experience with RPG programming.

• Mandatory EDI setup, troubleshooting, and partner configuration experience.

• Strong SQL and relational database skills.

• Proficiency with advanced Excel, including data analysis. Any exp with Power BI is a plus.

• Experience with Infor ERP XA or Mapics and Paper-Less MES preferred.

• Familiarity with IBM i Power Systems or SAP integrations is a plus.

• Ability to collaborate effectively and troubleshoot technical issues across departments.
