American Traveler is seeking a travel Long Term Care (LTC) Occupational Therapist for a travel job in Anchorage, Alaska.

Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an Occupational Therapist with at least 1 year of acute rehab experience and a valid AK license or eligibility for a rewarding inpatient rehabilitation assignment.

Responsibilities

  • Position is based in a large inpatient rehabilitation facility with 56 beds, including a 10-bed LTACH / ICU
  • Primary unit is inpatient OT rehab serving patients with strokes, spinal cord and brain injuries, neurological disorders, orthopedic conditions, and amputations
  • Day shifts are 4x10hr, 7 : 00am to 5 : 30pm, including approximately 2 weekend days per month
  • No on-call required
  • No floating outside assigned scope required
  • Epic is used for charting and experience is required
  • Caseload includes complex neurological, orthopedic, and post-acute patients in an interdisciplinary team environment
  • All occupational therapists are expected to float between facilities within the state if needed
  • Former permanent staff must be separated from the facility for at least 3 months before returning as a traveler
  • Travelers may work for a maximum of 1 calendar year at this facility and must take a 6-month break before returning
  • Orientation modules must be completed prior to start and annually; typical completion time is 16 hours
  • Scrub color is flexible; any color is allowed
  • Parking is provided at no charge
  • Housing options in the area may be limited, so candidates are encouraged to research accommodations in advance
  • First-time travelers are welcome to apply
  • Requirements

  • Current BLS and NBCOT required
  • Active Alaska OT license strongly preferred; pending license may be accepted
  • Minimum 1 year of acute rehab facility experience required
  • Must provide at least 2 supervisory references covering a year within the last 3 years
  • Facility does not accept local candidates; perm address must be at least 50 miles away
  • Must be willing to work 2 of the 3 major holidays : Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year
  • Only Hepatitis B vaccination accepted by facility
