LHHBerkeley, CaliforniaLHH Recruitment Solutions is partnering with a client to hire an Accounts Payable Specialist for a contract opportunity in Berkeley, California. . In this role, you will be responsible for managing all aspects of the accounts payable process, ensuring timely and accurate payment of invoices, and maintaining strong relationships with vendors. This role is critical to maintaining the financial health and integrity of our organization.
PLEASE NOTE : All duties for this opportunity are performed at the client’s office in Berkeley, California. This is not a remote position.
Key Responsibilities
Process and review invoices for appropriate documentation and approval prior to payment.
Accurately enter invoice data into the accounting system.
Perform day-to-day management of all payment cycle activities and provide efficient client service.
Reconcile processed work by verifying entries and comparing system reports to balances.
Maintain vendor files and respond to vendor inquiries promptly.
Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures and relevant accounting standards.
Assist with month-end closing processes, including accruals and reconciliation of accounts payable ledger.
Monitor accounts to ensure payments are up-to-date.
Prepare and process electronic transfers and payments.
Assist with audits by providing supporting documentation and information on accounts payable activities.
Collaborate with other departments to ensure accurate and efficient financial operations.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
Minimum of 3 years of experience in accounts payable or a similar role.
Proficiency in accounting software (, QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle).
Strong understanding of accounting principles and procedures.
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
Ability to handle confidential information with integrity and professionalism.
Strong organizational and time-management skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in the [specific industry] sector.
Knowledge of regulatory requirements and best practices in accounts payable.
Certification in Accounts Payable (, Certified Accounts Payable Professional, CAPA) is a plus.
