THIS POSITION IS LOCATED IN OUR SANTA CLARITA, CA HEADQUARTERS / SOCAL DIVSION OFFICE. THIS IS NOT REMOTE.
SUMMARY / OBJECTIVE :
The Land Acquisition Manager is responsible for identifying, evaluating, and acquiring land suitable for residential development. This position requires a deep understanding of real estate, land use regulations, and the Southern California housing market. The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker with strong negotiation and analytical skills.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES :
- Identify and source potential land acquisition opportunities that align with the company's strategic goals and financial objectives.
- Research and analyze market trends, demographic data, and economic indicators to identify high-potential areas.
- Develop and maintain a robust pipeline of potential acquisition opportunities.
- Work with the Forward Planning and Operations teams to conduct thorough due diligence, including title searches, environmental assessments, zoning analysis, feasibility studies, and budget preparation.
- Evaluate land deals based on factors such as zoning potential, development costs, and market demand.
- Assess the financial viability of potential land acquisitions and prepare detailed financial models.
- Negotiate purchase agreements and other relevant legal documents with landowners, brokers, and other stakeholders.
- Manage the entire acquisition process, from initial contact to closing.
- Work closely with legal counsel to ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with landowners, brokers, government officials, and other key stakeholders.
- Network with industry professionals to stay updated on market trends and potential opportunities.
- Analyze land acquisition costs, development costs, and projected revenue to assess the overall profitability of projects.
- Monitor market conditions and adjust acquisition strategies as needed.
