QUALIFICATIONS :
- Any combination of education, training and experience equivalent to the completion of a high school diploma.
- Possession of the knowledge, skills, abilities and physical attributes necessary to perform the essential functions of the position.
- Prior experience operating and maintaining diesel, gasoline, and electrically powered motors and machinery and applicable attachments.
- Previous Sports Field Maintenance experience preferred.
- Ability to sufficiently read and understand labels, instructions, and directions as they pertain to work performance, safety, and record keeping aspects of the job.
- Demonstrates effective human relations and communication skills.
- Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate or acceptable.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES :
JOB GOAL : Maintain district athletic fields to provide a safe environment for competitive events.
REPORTS TO : Director of Fields and Grounds, Operations
PHYSICAL DEMANDS : The individual who holds this position is regularly required to walk, hear and speak and must have close moderate and distance vision ability. This individual must be able to travel between district facilities. The position requires a person to lift 140 lbs. 0-24 inches, carry 80 lbs. 10 feet, and kneel / squat for 30 seconds.
CONDITIONS AND ENVIRONMENT : The work environment is consistent with grounds / mowing work and spends a significant amount of time outside during all seasons.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT : Salary and work calendar to be established by the Board of Education. Benefits according to Board policies.
FLSA : Non-exempt
RETIREMENT : Public Education Employee Retirement Systems (PEERS)
CERTIFICATES AND LICENSES : Class F Driver’s License
CLEARANCES : Criminal Justice Fingerprint / Background Clearance
