MPP employees serve at the pleasure of the campus President. MPPs do not serve a probationary period and never receive permanent status.
Position Salary Range : $9,487 - $14,231 per month
The anticipated hiring range for this position is $12,300 - $12,425 per month. The maximum budget for this position is $12,425.
Salary is commensurate with experience.

About the Department / Position :
Under the administrative direction of the Dean, University Library, the Associate Dean supports the Dean's vision for the Library's mission and strategic planning goals. The incumbent plays a significant role in all aspects of library-wide planning, personnel management, plans for new services, policy and procedures development, assessment, marketing, and oversight of daily library operations. The Associate Dean, in close collaboration with the Instruction and Assessment Coordinator, plays an important role in continuing the Library's strategic services and programming by assessing outcomes in service provision, collections, instruction, and diversity, equity, and inclusion in alignment with the campus and library's strategic plans. The Associate Dean is primarily responsible for the following library departments : User Services and Collections, Access, and Processing Services (CAPS). The Associate Dean assists the Dean in providing general leadership and oversight to the library faculty and serves as the appropriate administrator for temporary librarian lecturers. The Associate Dean represents the Library Dean at meetings and events both on and off campus, prepares reports as needed, assumes responsibility for the library in the Dean’s absence, and leads other initiatives as required.
Overview of Duties and Responsibilities :
- Support the Dean in the overall administration of the University Library.
- Responsible for the day-to-day operations of the following library departments : User Services and Collections, Access, and Processing Services (CAPS).
- As a member of the Library's management team, participate in problem resolution, decision-making, policy development, and planning for library units.
- Build strong relationships with campus partners whose work intersects with the Library to participate collaboratively in cross-institutional initiatives that effectively align and complement the work of the unit.
- Implement and manage complex library projects involving multiple stakeholders in cross-functional teams to facilitate effective and coordinated use of limited resources and to ensure successful completion of project objectives.
