Your role as an Associate Editor
You will help to ensure assigned projects are of high quality regarding scientific content, organization, clarity, accuracy, format, and consistency in collaboration with the brand’s senior editor. You are an expert in the English language, proficient in AMA editorial style, and can ensure grammatical and spelling accuracy in all materials produced. The Associate Editor performs check changes ensuring accuracy of the updates, 1 : 1 reviews, and light copyediting. You must possess superior proofreading skills, be detail oriented, have an excellent eye for detail, be able to manage changing priorities, and work independently. You must be able to learn new tools for marking up digital and print materials. An Associate Editor may be asked to perform proofreading with the proofreading team on an as-needed basis.
This is a remote opportunity where you must be willing and able to work PST hours reporting into an Associate Director, Editorial.
You will :
- Check changes routes : Review requested changes in several direct to consumer / direct to professional pharmaceutical advertising materials, at multiple stages, thoroughly reviewing to ensure compliance and adherence to FDA regulations, AMA, or specific brand style.
- Perform copy editing or make editorial suggestions to ensure proper grammar and usage depending on stage of review for readability, accuracy, and / or logical construction.
- Be asked to update copy docs against layouts.
- Take on special projects as assigned by the manager.
- Ensure all final copy and design match approved backups.
- Review materials for consistency of elements, logical order, spacing and design correctness, pagination, text casing, etc.

Compensation
50,000 — $65,000 USD
