Job Description
We are seeking a Inspector at any level of experience, from entry-level to experienced in our Burbank.
Rate of Pay : $16.50 - $40.50 per hourSummary
A Inspector must know how to perform dimensional inspections on S&H and supplier products, from small cylindrical products to complex machine parts, and know how to correctly document the findings / results. An Inspector must know how to read and interpret customer-supplied and company-generated documentation such as drawings, specifications, blueprints, specifications, engineering orders, work orders, work instructions and planning documents. The Inspector must have working knowledge on the uses of inspection equipment, including hand tools such as calipers, blade mics and depth mics, to other measuring equipment such as an optical comparator, profilometer, bore gage and CMM.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The duties and responsibilities described are not a comprehensive list and that additional tasks may be assigned to the employee and the scope of the job may change as necessitated by business demands.
- Understand and demonstrate Lean Principles; work to create an environment of continuous improvement and efficient productivity.
- Make suggestions for improvements in processes.
- Perform First Article Inspections (FAI) and create First Article Inspection Reports per AS9102 as needed.
- Perform Receiving Inspection.
- Perform random spot checks on production equipment to verify that machines are holding tolerance requirements.
- Work with Production staff as needed to verify First Article Inspection, first piece inspection, In-process inspection and gage set-up.
- Visual Inspection.
- Check product features such as threads and bores.
- Write inspection reports and discrepancy reports.
- Utilize 1Factory and MAP software.
- Utilize basic hand measuring tools to perform inspections.
- Interface with other Inspectors and the Quality Manager as needed regarding products.
- Releases products to next Work Order operation for final packaging and shipment.
- Participates in Research and Development (R&D) activities and projects to help the company implement competitive processes to keep existing business or win new business.

Experience and Education :
Years of Experience : 1+ years of experience
Type of Experience : High school diploma or general education degree (G.E.D.). One plus years of related experience and / or training in aerospace mechanical inspection; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
