Mainframe Application Developer

What does a successful Mainframe Application Developer do at Fiserv?

As a successful Mainframe Application Developer, you will develop and / or maintain moderately complex to complex software components of the business application system utilizing available Mainframe developer tools. This will be approximately 80% software development and 20% analysis.

What you will do :

Create, execute and review test plans

Define and establish test data

Create and maintain software documentation and report system data using reporting tools

Define and document mainframe systems changes

Regularly interface with various business units and senior IT staff in order to obtain system change approvals

What you will need to have :

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Technology or related field, equivalent experience, and / or equivalent military experience

5+ years of software application development experience

Experience with COBOL, MVS / JCL, DB2 in a mainframe environment

Per contractual obligations, must be a US citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain a qualified United States Government security clearance, (e.g., US DOD Secret)

What would be great to have :

Mainframe application programming experience with loan servicing systems

3+ years of experience with storage and retrieval of information in databases and other indexed storage methods

A background in the financial industry, (and specifically within the student loan industry)

Experience with SQL, CICS or VSAM in a mainframe environment

Important information about this role :

This role is on-site Monday through Friday. Fiserv considers in-person collaboration to be an essential part of this role as in-person office experiences help you with your overall onboarding experience and leads to stronger productivity.
