Crisis Counselor (Onsite) - Sacramento
Position Overview :
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Crisis Counselors to join our team at a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) in Sacramento. This role involves responding to 988 Suicide Prevention hotlines, and providing emotional support, assessment, crisis intervention, and treatment / support referrals to contacts.Ideal candidates will have prior experience in crisis intervention and mental health services.
Key Responsibilities :
- Respond to 988 and Lifeline Crisis communications, hotlines, and provide emotional support, assessment, crisis intervention, and treatment / support referrals.
- Consistently and accurately assess each caller for suicide risk following assessment protocols and practices; provide adequate and relevant safety / action planning for each caller.
- Offer and provide Follow Up Texts, Chats, and Calls to callers at risk of suicide, suicide loss survivors, and others.
- Follow through on Imminent Risk calls to assure emergency contact is made with callers and confirm outcomes or re-engage callers as indicated.
- Provide detailed and thorough documentation for all crisis line calls and Crisis Chats / Texts.
- Adhere consistently to call management guidelines and all crisis center policies and procedures.
- Assist with reporting on crisis center data and outcomes throughout the year.
- Assist with maintaining and updating the community resource database.
- Maintain confidentiality of all callers, Crisis Chat and Text users, crisis center location, Crisis Center staff, and Crisis Line Policy and Procedures.
