About the Job

A catering manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of a catering operation, including planning menus, managing staff, coordinating with clients to meet their event needs, ensuring food quality and presentation, managing budgets, and guaranteeing smooth execution of catering services for functions and events, all while adhering to food safety regulations and maintaining customer satisfaction.

Key responsibilities of a catering manager :

  • Client consultation : Meet with clients to discuss event details, dietary restrictions, menu options, and budget constraints.
  • Menu planning : Develop and customize menus in collaboration with chefs, considering client preferences and special requests.
  • Event logistics : Coordinate venue setup, table arrangements, equipment rental, and food delivery.
  • Budget control : Manage catering costs, monitor expenses, and ensure profitability.
  • Quality control : Maintain high standards for food quality, presentation, and hygiene.
  • Vendor management : Negotiate contracts with suppliers and vendors
  • Compliance : Ensure adherence to all food safety and health regulations.
