ERM is seeking a Civil Project Engineer to join our technical Capital Project Delivery team in Charleston, West Virginia . In this role, you will provide engineering design and technical assistance on developing projects and site work engineering and construction projects for clients locally and nationally.
As a Consultant Engineer, you will contribute your leadership, client relationship, and technical consulting skills to support the growth of ERM’s business and client base while networking with ERM's global Capital Project Delivery technical team and technology experts to share best practices across the industry. Key Skills / Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Civil Engineering, or related engineering field. Consideration is also given for geotechnical / geologic focused candidates.
- Has obtained Professional Engineering license in one of the following states : KY, WV, OH, PA, MD, NC, VA, or DC, or is willing and able to seek reciprocity within one year of hire.
- At least 2-3 years of progressively more complex civil and infrastructure design experience, including consulting for private-sector clients. Consideration will also be made for candidates with strong field experience including construction inspection / oversight in earlier parts of their career.
- Strong skillset in AutoCAD Civil 3D including grading, profiles, and integrating survey data. Candidate should have at least 3 years of prior experience using AutoCAD Civil 3D for these purposes.
- At least 2 years of experience with NPDES stormwater / wastewater permitting, environmental plan writing (e.g., SWPPP, SPCC Plans, etc.) and stormwater permitting or have the willingness and passion to learn.
- Experience with other types of federal, state, and local permitting such as USACE or willingness to learn.
- Strong working knowledge of MS Office Suite software.
- Demonstrated ability to research and prepare concise and accurate technical documents.
- Ability to work both independently and as a collaborative member of a project team.
- Strong interpersonal communication skills, which includes being comfortable and effective at communicating complex technical knowledge and concepts to other staff, clients, regulatory agencies, and project stakeholders.
