This Claims AVP will report to the Head of Claims at Republic Indemnity with the primary responsibilities of leading the Calabasas claims team.
Responsibilities :
- Management of the Calabasas claims department of 25 claims professionals
- Responsible for performance, development and coaching of staff.
- Provides input and actively participates in divisional meetings and training sessions.
- Partners with peers and parent company leadership to provide insights regarding claims trends and developments.
- Offers support and counsel in connection with new business opportunities and key account retention.
- Provides strategic direction and tactical leadership to the department.
- Drives culture of innovation and continuous improvement through processes, systems and practices to improve efficiency, effectiveness, and service delivery.
- Monitors and analyzes data to ensure consistency in quality of reserving, strategies, and outcomes.
- Ensures that claims handling is conducted in compliance with applicable statutes, regulations and other legal requirements, and that all applicable company procedures and policies are followed.
- Responsible for nurturing and enhancing a unique claims culture, maintaining high levels of employee engagement, and ensuring a strong customer service focus.
- Provides advice on the resolution of claims files including oversight and strategy for large claims and litigation management. Submits recommendations to Corporate Claims on cases exceeding personal authority.
- Works closely with senior leadership team to ensure budget and performance targets are effectively set and achieved.
- Engages with appropriate industry organizations to identify changes in the claims and legal environment and develop effective strategies to navigate.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
