Description :

Assesses financial needs of new and established patients related to clinical care, according to specified protocol. Researches individual patients' financial options and provides findings to patients and care providers, which may be used to inform treatments decisions. Provides services in areas of financial need to patients, families, and the health care team

as appropriate. Provides patient and health care team education, links to resources and data collection in accordance with the process identified.

What the Clinical Financial Consultant will need :

• Minimum : Bachelor's degree in finance, business, counseling or social work.
• Preferred : Master's degree
• Licensed in State of Michigan as a Clinical Social Worker (LMSW)
• 2 years in medical field working with the financial needs of patients.
• Preferred : Experience with Medicare health plans, COBRA regulations, Medicaid guidelines, PAP, co-pay assistance programs and ACA (Marketplace).
• Effective communication skills.
• High level of initiative and ability to self-direct to solve financial problems of patients.
• Ability to work collaboratively with the treatment team.
• Time management and organization skills, permitting the effective execution of several concurrent projects and priorities.
