Opportunity

Brunswick Group is seeking a Director to join our Litigation Communications practice group in New York.

Brunswick's litigation communications practice is made up of experienced professionals, including former practicing attorneys, who are familiar with complicated legal contexts and sensitivities. We have significant experience working on high-profile issues, crisis, and litigation situations affecting corporate value.

Responsibilities may include but are not limited to :

Client Contribution & Handling

  • Deliver strategic advice to clients, drawing on litigation communications expertise and depth of professional advisory experience - and contributing to formulation of advice on strategy and communications approach for litigation situations
  • Representing the firm in discussions of complex litigation situations with senior executives at the client and with legal teams
  • Serving as the main point of contact for clients in day-to-day communications.
  • Demonstrate deep knowledge of the clients' business and strategic communications issues
  • Monitor level of account profitability and intervening as necessary

  • Writing thoughtful, well-structured content; considering audience in style and tone of communications
  • Expressing a well-developed point of view; analyzing and distilling complex information

  • Applying knowledge and experience to lead well-run pitch teams and drive pitch preparation to support colleagues across regions and sectors

  • Actively and effectively managing account teams and driving day-to-day activities for multiple accounts at a time
  • Guiding team on structuring the development of client deliverables for fast-moving and high intensity situations in a timely manner
  • Fostering development of team members' skills and client handling ability by identifying new challenges and encouraging team to stretch where appropriate
  • Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities :

  • 10-15+ years of experience in an advisory position with a deep understanding of litigation communications, crisis communications and / or corporate reputation
  • Ability to anticipate and analyze stakeholder reactions (investors, analysts, legal, media, employees)
  • Experience distilling complex situations to outside audiences, including those who are not litigation experts
  • Experience managing teams of five or more people
  • Client service oriented
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize and think strategically and creatively in a fast-paced environment
  • Exceptional research, writing and communication skills
  • Energetic and self-motivated team player with strong work ethic
  • Ability to exhibit discretion with confidential client matters

    Compensation

    The applicant who is selected for this position will be eligible for the following compensation :

    In New York City, the annual compensation for this role will be : $225,000 - $250,000.

    If an offer is extended to an applicant in New York, the applicant will be paid in line with this range and based on the applicant's experience and qualifications. This range applies only to the New York position, and salaries in other offices and regions will vary based on an applicant's experience and qualifications, as well as the competitive landscape.

    Bonus Eligibility : Annual discretionary bonus contingent upon individual performance and the overall performance of the Firm.
