Job Overview
The Mechanic Assembler I is responsible for the disassembly, reassembly, testing, and painting of natural gas engine and compressor components. This role requires mechanical aptitude, precision, and a strong commitment to safety and quality standards in a shop environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities :
- Assemble and disassemble mechanical components per engineering drawings and specifications
- Perform hand grinding, painting, and preservation of parts
- Conduct functional testing and complete inspection documentation
- Operate pneumatic / hydraulic tools, cranes, and lift trucks
- Maintain a clean and organized work area
- Follow safety protocols and complete risk assessments
- Report discrepancies and safety concerns to supervisors
- Support lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives
- Perform minor maintenance on tools and equipment
- Comply with company policies, EHS standards, and quality regulations
- Wear required PPE and adhere to safety procedures
