- 54.58 to $85.68 / hour

Position Summary
This position requires the full understanding and active participation in fulfilling the mission of Saddleback Medical Center. The employee shall support Saddleback Medical Center's strategic plan and participate in and advocate performance improvement / patient safety activities.
The RN, Lactation Consultant is a licensed professional breast feeding specialist trained to teach patients and families how to feed their baby safely and effectively. This position aids in assisting patients who experience any difficulties while breastfeeding. The Lactation Consultant is responsible for perinatal education and patient support regarding current breastfeeding practices and techniques. Utilizing their knowledge and experience this position is responsible for establishing a positive first impression of the Women's and Children's Departments.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities of the Job
1. Communicates clearly and effectively both privately and publicly to ensure address patient care needs in both outpatient and inpatient settings.
2. Possesses knowledge in the childbirth process to promote the health and wellbeing of our patients, families, and visitors.
3. Assess lactation needs for patients to develop and implement a plan of care to reach expected outcomes safely and effectively.
4. Conducts outpatient support consultation to further promote the most effective plan of care as the patients and families transition from inpatient to outpatient.
5. Utilizes audio-visual equipment to interpret patient care needs and establish a concise plan of care.
6. Prioritizes adult learning principles to ensure patients retain information provided during their inpatient and outpatient education.
7. Ability to be at work and be on time
