Must be from the Semiconductor or Manufacturing Industry (NOT Software Automation)

Industrial Automation Experience is Mandatory

Strong expertise in PLC, Machine Control, EtherCAT, Modbus, and Beckhoff TwinCAT

Job Description :

The Automation Control Engineer will be responsible for designing and developing real-time control software for semiconductor manufacturing equipment, particularly deposition process systems such as ALD (Atomic Layer Deposition) and CVD (Chemical Vapor Deposition) cluster tools used in DRAM and logic fabrications . The candidate will work in a cross-functional, multitasking, and international team to develop and support industrial automation software for semiconductor tools.

Responsibilities :

Gather requirements , design, develop, integrate, test, and document real-time control software for semiconductor manufacturing cluster tools .
Analyze system requirements and translate them into software specifications .
Develop automation solutions for semiconductor tools, ensuring seamless communication between various components.
Troubleshoot, verify, document, and resolve software issues in compliance with quality standards .
Provide technical support for development labs, production teams, and end customers.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams in the U.S. and internationally.
International travel (up to 10%) may be required.

Qualifications & Experience :

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Automation Engineering, or a related field .

2+ years of hands-on experience in real-time multitasking programming for large equipment control software in the semiconductor industry .

Strong knowledge and hands-on experience in C#, .NET, and databases .

Experience with real-time intelligent device interfaces , including :

Robots

Mass Flow Controllers (MFCs)

Gate Valves & Pressure Transducers

Integrated Gas Boxes & Panels

Safety-Critical Devices

Ethernet, TCP / IP, RS-232, DeviceNet

Industrial automation experience with PLC programming and configuration is a plus.

Beckhoff TwinCAT / EtherCAT software operation experience is highly desirable.

Knowledge of factory automation and SEMI standards (SECS / GEM) is a plus.

Familiarity with Windows GUI development is a plus.

Important Notes :

This role is strictly onsite from Day 1 No remote work allowed.

Candidates must be local to San Jose, CA.
