HIRING SALARY RANGE: $2,112.31 - $2,500/biweekly range

The Work You Will Do:

Join our Organizational Development Office (ODO) and help shape meaningful learning experiences that empower employees to grow and succeed. In this dynamic role, you’ll design engaging training programs, manage our Learning Management System (LMS), and collaborate with teams across the organization to deliver impactful professional development initiatives for adult learners.

What You Will Do:

  • Design impactful learning: Create engaging training programs for adult learners across instructor-led, virtual, web-based, and self-paced formats.
  • Lead the way in learning design: Develop and enhance programs using best practices in instructional design and adult learning.
  • Drive collaboration: Partner with subject matter experts and stakeholders to create high-quality, relevant content.
  • Manage the LMS experience: Administer the Learning Management System, including course setup, user support, and reporting.
  • Keep systems running smoothly: Maintain training data in the LMS and provide technical support for learning platforms.
  • Support training coordination: Partner with program offices and maintain current listings of training staff and coordinators.
  • Facilitate professional development: Deliver engaging training sessions using effective adult learning strategies.

Your Specific Responsibilities:

This position serves as an instructional designer and Learning Management System (LMS) coordinator in the Organizational Development Office (ODO).

Design, develop, implement, maintain, and enhance learning and development programs, processes, and supporting materials (e.g. program implementation and training guides, process communication tools, job aids, presentations, video, multimedia) for the adult learner to be used with different media and delivery options: instructor-led, virtual, interactive web-based, self-study, and assessment products.

Apply learning theories, instructional design models, and technology to develop training programs, job aids, courses, and educational content that meet organizational or academic goals in compliance with organizational standards.

Coordinate and manage the Department’s Learning Management System (LMS), including course administration, user support, and reporting to ensure effective delivery of training programs. Input training sessions and supporting information into the LMS. Update training advertisements, registration and completion information in the LMS. Use survey tools to evaluate training experiences. Support program offices to ensure delivery of planned training and assist with duties related to training needs. Maintain current listing of all Training Staff and Unit Training Coordinators.

Assist with ODO systems and projects, supporting implementation, coordination, and ongoing improvements to organizational development initiatives. Provide operational and administrative support for ODO systems to enhance overall program efficiency. Support project activities by tracking timelines, maintaining documentation, coordinating with internal teams and external partners, and compiling reports to inform program evaluation and decision-making. Contribute to the development and refinement of processes, tools, and resources that strengthen both ODO systems and organizational development initiatives.

Serve as a trainer for ODO programs, delivering high-quality professional development experiences that enhance employee skills, knowledge, and engagement. Instruct or facilitate classes while employing appropriate teaching and learning strategies to communicate subject matter to adult learners.

The Successful Candidate will have the following required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Knowledge of:

  • Knowledge of learning management systems and applications.
  • Knowledge of industry concepts and practices relating to adult learning theories and instructional design.
  • Knowledge of principles of effective design for in-person and virtual training projects.
  • Knowledge of surveying to research and gather actionable data.

Skills in:

  • Skill in using Microsoft SharePoint and Teams; Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; and specialized design software (Articulate 360, Adobe Captivate, Photoshop, etc.).
  • Skill in designing and developing curriculum.
  • Skill in managing self and taking pride to provide exceptional customer service by responding with a sense of urgency, practicality, accountability, and integrity.
  • Skill in working in a dynamic environment that requires critical thinking and strong analytical skills.
  • Skill in effective communication; both verbal and written.
  • Skill in producing and organizing supporting materials.
  • Skill in researching, compiling, analyzing, and reporting on data to report findings and develop improvement solutions.

  • Ability to prioritize and complete complex work assignments.

Other Job-Related Requirements:

  • 25% Travel may be required.

Minimum Qualifications:

Four years of professional or nonprofessional experience in instruction, instructional design, curriculum development, adult education, performance improvement, or organizational or staff development. A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university can substitute for four years of the required experience.
